Technology Information for Online Learners
Minimum Technology Requirements
A high-speed internet connection is required for students enrolled in Saint Louis University's distance education courses and programs. At a minimum, SLU students need:
- Regular access to a high-speed/broadband internet connection
- A functional computer with:
- Current internet web browsers
- Web camera
- Headset or microphone/speakers
Additionally, each school/college has minimum technology standards. Your distance program or course also may require additional technologies. Please check your course syllabus and/or your Canvas course site for any additional technology requirements.

Internet Browsers and Plug-Ins
SLU uses the Canvas Learning Management System for online courses. You can verify if your browser is supported on the Canvas support site.

Self-Service Portal
If your online course or program requires the use of technologies that the University does not support, you should be able to find information about how to access support for those tools in your syllabus and/or your course website in Canvas.
